About the role

Mater Education has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Student Services Officer to join the team in a permanent and full time capacity. Reporting to the Manager Student Support this role is base at our South Brisbane campus. You will be responsible for the recruitment, enrolment and student support activities to maximise student enrolments and support a culture of excellence in customer service.

Salary range: $30.88-$34.52 per hour plus superannuation

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide high level support to the customer lifecycle process such as initial enquiries, enrolment, orientation, ongoing customer consultation and administration to ensure a proactive, customer focused service that maximises customer engagement.
  • Provide informed, targeted, timely and accurate course information advice to customers to maximise engagement and assist customers with vocational education and training decisions.
  • Support the development and ongoing improvement of the customer lifecycle process including recommending changes to procedures and information to ensure a structured, cohesive and comprehensive customer engagement strategy that delivers a customer centric experience
  • Progress enquiries and applications through the recruitment processes ensuring organisational, regulatory and legislative requirements are met.
  • Review applications for completeness and follow up with applicants where necessary.
  • Issue, receive and follow up LLN tests and progress applicants to interview or notify of alternate outcomes.
  • Interview potential students and make decisions on progress of applications.
  • Ensure student eligibility for enrolment and funding
  • Maintain data integrity within the student management system
  • Complete and report financial data
  • Answer student queries on tuition fees
  • Liaise with community organisations, employers and industry to develop the post graduation pathways for students
  • Inform students of relevant internal and external employment opportunities whilst enrolled
  • Attend and support graduation, expos and open days.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience working in an RTO  in a similar role coupled with the below:

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Proficient in use of Student/Learning Management Systems and external reporting systems
  • Working knowledge and experience in Human Resource interviewing techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to priortise competing tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong customer service focus

Required Qualifications

Certificate IV in Workplace Traning and Assessment would be highly regarded.
