Drafter/Designer

We are looking for an experienced Designer/Drafter based at our Riverview branch. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic company focused on innovation within the modular building industry. The successful applicant will benefit in their career development by gaining a solid understanding of the engineering design, detailing and manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Design and generate architectural and production drawings from initial concept in compliance with Australian Building Code and relevant Australian standards.
  • Identify and provide creative solutions to client requirements
  • Interpret technical specifications, tender documents and building drawings
  • Develop accurate specifications/scope of works/clarifications/qualifications
  • Comply with all Codes and standards including National Construction Code, Ausco standards, Architectural & Design Standards.
  • Liaise with Consulting Engineers, Building Certifier, Suppliers, Sub-contractors and clients as required.

Ideally, you will have either building design experience or construction knowledge, preferably with tertiary qualifications in drafting/building studies and a minimum 1-2 years industry specific experience.  Understanding of the National Construction Code/BCA and Australian Standards will be highly regarded.  It is critical that you have demonstrated ability to read drawings, do take-offs, interpret marked up drawings and customer specifications, along with applying changes to suit jobs with high complexity.  Experience in Revit is essential as is a high level of proficiency in Excel and AutoCad.  

You will be self-motivated, work well within a fast-paced team environment and use your initiative to recommend improvement opportunities. Additionally, you will have high attention to detail and accuracy, good communication and problem-solving skills.
