Pathology Assistant

What are we looking for?

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘your key responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge and skills or the ability to acquire knowledge and skills in basic laboratory processes, together with the ability to effectively use or learn to use the Pathology Information System (Auslab).

  • Ability to work in a methodical manner using good time management skills.

  • Proven ability to follow instructions and work in a conscientious and accurate manner with a minimum of supervision.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and Scientific / Technical staff orally and in writing, including the ability to follow detailed operational instructions.

  • Well developed interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

  • Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
