APS4 Secretariat Officer

Centrally located agency looking for an organised secretariat to manage up to 3 committees

Your new company
This Federal Government Department are looking for an organised, energetic and dedicated person to join their small and dynamic team.

Your new role
This section is seeking a motivated, Canberra-based person to join its Secretariat Team as an APS4 equivalent officer until the end of the year. The successful officer will work as part of a supportive team, responsible for delivery of secretariat support to Council and Principal Committees and a range of governance functions, including freedom of information coordination.

What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful candidate for this vacancy you will have previous experience within a similar role and within the Government and will have the following skills:

• Organise meeting dates and ensure administrative arrangements are in place and have been communicated to Committee Members
• Work with line areas to assist in drafting, quality control and uploading Committee meeting agenda and papers on to the Committee Centre
• Contribute to the effective running of meetings, including review of minutes and some (non-technical) drafting
• Maintain and distribute Committee Member information in line with agreed SOPs
• Build and maintain productive working relationships with Committee Members and staff
• Undertake some governance functions (as outlined above) to support team deliverables
• Provide support to other team projects as needed.

To be considered for this role you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
