As the lead agency of the NSW transport cluster, Transport for NSW is responsible for coordinating transport services used by over 7.5 million residents, 800,000 businesses and 30 million visitors every year. We work with several government agencies to coordinate road, rail, bus and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.

The Safety, Environment and Regulation division promotes safety and sustainability of the transport system. We undertake research, educate communities, develop policies and enforce regulations to constantly improve safety and environmental outcomes.

 

The opportunity

 

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Database Officer who is responsible for investigating and maintaining quality data, records management and support across various operational business units. You will be required to juggle high volume inward bound calls in addition while managing a number of email inboxes ensuring that all are processed in a timely efficient manner.

 

What you will be involved in:

  • Ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate Vehicle Identification Number applications (VINS) and Written-Off Vehicles records across NSW.
  • Monitoring, tracking, and responding to inquiries related to high-risk vehicles across NSW and interstate by sourcing and collating information and intelligence from multiple sources.
  • Provide  information for vehicle investigations by identifying and sourcing relevant records and documents from a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintain up to date electronic database files, inventories, and closely track confidential file movements.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding the applicability of Vehicle Identity Unit inspections in regional and city locations and providing detailed recommendations and advice related to vehicle data.
  • Analysing and interpreting vehicle registration data from multiple jurisdictions to understand and identify data inaccuracies and provide solutions to correct anomalies where required.

About you

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic dedicated professional with excellent communication (both written and oral), administration and prioritisation skills who enjoys a fast paced high volume environment. Stakeholder management is key as you will be liaising with a variety of both internal and external stakeholders who will be requiring your assistance urgently.

 

Ideally you will have a background in investigations or research, excellent computer skills including database management and be a team player. Experience interpreting legislation in a regulatory environment would be highly regarded.

The salary for this position is USS Grade 5 ($75,749 - $79,607) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
