Location: Katanning

Contract: 11 month Fixed term part time (15 hours per week only required during school terms)

Wanslea has been charged with the responsibility of conducting services for the Communities For Children program in/around the central Great Southern region, with Katanning being one of the major sites for such interventions.

We are responsible for providing opportunities to vulnerable communities around that locality with the intention of strengthening relationships, supporting families, improving children’s well-being, increasing their participation in positive community life and reducing the costs of family breakdown.  In addition, it is also intended to provide support for better community connections, as well as services to help newly arrived migrants in their transition to life in Australia.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced part time Family Support Worker to join our team to realise these community/family goals. 

This is an opportunity to be part of a fun and creative environment working with children and families.

Wanslea promote family friendly work practices and in turn this positions work hours are only required during the school term. 



  • Diploma of Children’s Services, Human Services or approved equivalent
  • Proven relevant experience in working with communities and families
  • Extensive knowledge of child development, family functioning and the impact of complex issues on the wellbeing of children
  • Experience in group facilitation
