Strategy Manager

About our client:

Headquartered in the United States, our client is a global professional services organization that provides unparalleled customer insights, advice and analytics to their client base, helping them to improve decision making and commercial outcomes.

With a truly global presence, our client holds a dominant market position with the Asia-Pacific region and is looking to continue to grow their client base across the Pacific.

With core values which focus on delivering superior customer service, a passion for innovation and valuing their own team members, our client offers a rewarding, collegiate and meritocratic working environment.

The role:

This is a rare opportunity within an established and business critical, global strategy function. With a sole focus on the Pacific region, the Strategy Manager works closely with Executive Director, Strategy, Pricing, & Analytics, Pacific to help drive the business strategy to achieve the Group’s revenue and profitability goals and to maintain and enhance its industry leading position. Responsibilities encompass the full range of strategic and tactical planning as well as business development and M&A.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Develop and implement strategic plans and performance improvement projects across the Pacific region

2. Manage and deliver annual group strategy cycle deliverables to the global head office

3. Conduct competitive and market intelligence analysis

4. Support local CFO and Finance teams in-line with broader strategic priorities

5. Support third party delivery arrangements and broaden the Group’s LexisNexis reach to adjacent markets, ensuring solid channel and distribution strategies and successful outcomes for all new solutions.

The successful candidate:

The Strategy Manager will be a confident, self starter who is able to work collegiately and collaboratively with all levels of a corporate business. Ideally the candidate will have developed their skill set with a top tier consulting house or the strategy practice of a professional services firm. Thereafter, some ‘in-house’ commercial experience would be highly advantageous but not necessarily a pre-requisite.

In addition, the successful candidate must be able to satisfy the following criteria:

· Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Maths, Chemistry, or other quantitative discipline

· 6 to 7 years strategy related work experience, or 4+ years analytical experience in a top-tier strategic consulting firm.

· Additional experience in M&A advisory firm or corporate development / strategy function

· Quantitative modeling in MS Excel

· Advanced MS PowerPoint skills

· Advanced skills writing reports in MS Word

· Drive for results - Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully while steadfastly pushes self and others for results

· Dealing with ambiguity - Can effectively cope with change and can decide and act without having the total picture while comfortably handling risk and uncertainty

· Functional/Technical Skills - Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment

· Organizational Agility - Knowledgeable about how organizations work and knows how to get things done both through formal or informal channels and the informal network

· Integrity and Trust - Is seen as a direct, truthful individual who can present the unvarnished truth in an appropriate and helpful manner

What’s on offer?

Many roles have the word strategic attached to them but then rarely deliver on expectations regarding the mandate. This is a truly strategic opportunity where the role holder will get to shape the strategic direction of a market leading business across the Pacific region.

As a development opportunity, this role will offer career progression on multiple levels with the option to expand horizons into Europe, America and the wider APAC region.

With a mature approach to flexible working, a positive and harmonious culture, a commitment to innovation and using the very best technology to enhance performance, our client offers a progressive working environment.

Salary, depending on experience will be $120,000 - $145,000 + super + bonus.
