HR & OHS Officer | Admin & Compliance | FMCG Distribution site

The Human Resources and Compliance Officer is a salaried position which supports the cold storage site for a large FMCG meat processing company. 

You will provide administrative and operational support to the site manager for day to day HR tasks, as well as covering duties for health and safety/environmental compliance and staff competency, and oversee site general administrative functions.

Training and support will be provided by current incumbent. 

The Responsibilities

  • Staff Training & Development - ensure staff inductions and  training objectives are achieved;
  • Human Resources - assist in development and implementation of various HR policies and procedures; assist with recruitment activities; employee relations programs, culture initiatives and other HR related projects as needed;
  • Prepare/maintain all employee files: personnel, medical, retirement, training, and contract, etc.;
  • Occupational Health & Safety officer responsibilities;
  • Respond promptly to unforeseen/unusual problems and emergency situations in office;
  • Responsible for adhering to company policies and procedures in a positive manner;
  • Proactively work to create positive and professional culture;
  • Other duties as assigned will include - purchasing, accounts and general administration. 

Experience and Education

  • Minimum 3 years HR / administrative role; preferred with FMCG warehousing environment;
  • HR accreditations (desirable);
  • OH&S accreditations (desirable);
  • Working knowledge of employment relations and general office protocol required;
  • Experience in a high volume work environment is essential;
  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability communicate/manage well at all levels;
  • High level of integrity and dependability;
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Must work well with others in team environment;
  • Effective organizational skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Current driver's licence.
