It’s an exciting time for the G’DAY Group, which comprises of Discovery Parks, Top Parks and G’DAY Rewards. Since our inception in 2004 we have experienced extensive growth to become Australia’s largest operator of Holiday and Work Stay Parks employing over 1500 people throughout Australia.

In 2018, we acquired Top Parks and have grown this licensed park network to 230 Parks and created GDAY Rewards our new loyalty program which now has 150,000 paid members and offers a community of ‘mates’ exclusive deals and benefits both in park and with key strategic partners.

Our aim is to be the leading regional accommodation business in Australia as we grow to 400+ owned, licensed and franchised parks by FY24.

The Discovery Parks Group is a multidimensional business with strong strategic advantage within the accommodation sector.  We have unsurpassed acquisition and development capabilities and are looking for an experienced, passionate and innovative Sales & Marketing executive to accelerate the growth of our businesses.

 

About the Role

The General Manager Sales & Marketing will lead the G’DAY Group Sales & Marketing function. This involves developing our strategy, vision and capability with a strong focus on further developing our capability to deliver revenue across key leisure, groups and B2B segments. In addition, this role will be responsible for social, content marketing, public relations and brand marketing.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Delivery of top line revenue in line with business objectives
  • Developing the Group Marketing & Sales Strategy optimising annual marketing spend through constant performance analysis and reporting
  • Building partnerships with tourism, allied industry and local Government bodies through strategic and tactical marketing campaigns
  • Advising, briefing and making recommendations to the Executive and Marketing & Distribution Board Sub-Committee on opportunities and issues
  • Create an industry leading Sales, Marketing & Distribution system across the GDAY Group making innovative use of new channels, technology, content and partnerships
  • Drive a culture of customer led thinking, actively educating the business around customer trends, behaviours and insights to create a truly customer led business
  • Support the growth of G’DAY Rewards as it expands its partner network and increasingly becomes the key driver of repeat visitation
  • Provide marketing expertise to shape new digital capabilities to provide innovative and sector leading CX and product experiences online and in-park

 

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience as General Manager Sales & Marketing or similar role. You will be data led and ROI driven being able to balance a practical mindset with a creative business acumen leading people through complex marketing operations. 

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will be Tertiary qualified in Management, Marketing or a Business-related discipline. You will have demonstrated experience in providing exceptional leadership and your proven competencies will include:-

  • A proven track record in developing effective strategies and business plans for all Sales & Marketing areas including optimising customer acquisition and retention in a rapidly changing environment where content, social recommendation & experiences increasingly drive choice
  • Using customer data analytics, NPS & insights to measure and deliver change and performance improvement driving customer engagement, profitability & growth
  • Optimise marketing across emerging digital and non-digital channels utilising ROI methodologies focussed on CLV
  • Outstanding knowledge of marketing practices within traditional and emerging environments and markets, particularly those relating to conversion of consumer products
  • Proven ability to effectively manage all financial, people and commercial aspects of a business while maximising use of resources within budget constraints
