Assistant Accountant - Part Time

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with finance and accounts experience and excellent numerical and communication skills to join our professional team. The successful candidate will have a strong customer service background, strong interpersonal skills, an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and an energetic & proactive approach.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Daily bank reconciliation and data entry
  • Upload EFT/TT payments and provide notice of remittance
  • Liaise with clients and other third parties
  • Assist with GST reconciliation against GL accounts
  • Maintain fixed assets and capital expenditure reconciliations
  • Other accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations
  • Assist with month end closing and preparation of financial reports and other management reports for the company
  • Assist team leader on finance department projects planning and or implementation.

 

The role requires the successful candidate to have:

  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor degree) majoring in accounting and/or finance
  • Minimum three-year work experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Sound accounting knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management, good numeracy and computer skills
  • Team work orientated, with a positive and 'can do' attitude
  • Member or associated member of CA or CPA or equivalent accounting professional body is preferable, but not essential
