Opportunity for an experienced medical receptionist to join busy practice in Rockhampton on temporary basis commencing as soon as possible

Adecco are proud to work with our client a busy practice based in Rockhampton with an opportunity for an experienced Senior Receptionist to join their high performing team

Description

The Senior Medical Receptionist is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Reception and Transport Team and associated functions ensuring they are carried out in accordance with agreed procedures, protocols and time-schedules.

You will be providing general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and high level of customer service to Clients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

The role will facilitate effective communication between Clients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies as well as undertaking a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.

This temporary position will be reviewed on a month to month basis with an asap start.

  • Ensure adequate receptionist staffing levels in order to suit Clinic’s requirements.
  • Organise and manage all leave provisions of receptionist staff in line with agreed policy while liaising with Practice and Clinic Manager.
  • Train receptionist staff on Communicare and adhere to current processes when making appointments.
  • Undertake probation reviews, work improvement plans as required and in consultation with Practice Manager.
  • Manage the various appointments, visits and other bookings in line with agreed policies and ensure staff are adequately trained to perform duty.
  • Review/approval of timesheets for direct reports.
  • Ensure QUMAX - Quality Use of Medicines Maximised.
  • Undertake delegated audits as required by Practice Manager.
  • Ensure self and subordinate staff undertake daily batching, receipting and filing of Medicare claims, staff file patient notes, letters, results and other relevant documentation.
  • Effectively manage own time, workload and resources.

Profile

The successful candidate will hold the following

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Certificate IV in Business Administration, or similar qualification with relevant industry experience or working towards.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and knowledge of office management systems, patient database systems and the capacity to provide advice on the development of administrative policies and procedures including in the context of continuous quality improvement frameworks.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal with complex issues and work under pressure with minimal supervision and meet set deadlines.

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) - essential
  • Immunisation requirements - It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card
  • Satisfactory Police Check
