Transport Co-ordinator /Administration Officer (Fixed term contract)

The Role

In this busy role, you will be responsible for co-ordinating transport of our salvage vehicles and trucks and machinery on behalf of customers and vendors in line with weekly auctions and sales at our Milperra branch. 

This position is a fixed term 12 month contract. 

The role involves;

  • Liaising with transport vendors and suppliers via telephone, e-mail and face-to-face to co-ordinate and verify transport of vehicles within the agreed time frames
  • Invoicing debtors for transport services and processing purchase orders & invoices in an accurate and timely manner
  • Providing updates to customers and vendors on transport status of vehicles, reporting/escalating issues as required
  • Providing transport cost quotes and estimations to vendors & buyers as required
  • Data entry of transport orders into our system including entering updates
  • Answering customer and vendor enquiries politely, promptly and accurately including providing transport quotes when requested
  • Liaising effectively with relevant employees at our branches regarding vehicle locations and transport requests
  • General administrative and office duties associated with the auction process

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • at least 12 months' experience in an administration/customer service focused role
  • strong attention to detail & coordination skills with ability to juggle tasks
  • a commitment to delivering outstanding service
  • effective communication skills
  • proven interpersonal & client relationship skills
  • competent computer skills (MS Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • efficient, organised and able to prioritise competing deadlines
  • self-motivated and able to work effectively without close supervision
  • flexible, reliable and well-presented
