About the role:

We currently have a vacancy for a Part Time Payroll Officer at our Knoxfield site. This position will ensure the timely and accurate processing and reconciling of the end to end payroll function in the business.  These include weekly, fortnightly and monthly pays in accordance with relevant Awards, Individual Agreements and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements for Australia and New Zealand.  The Payroll Officer is the first contact for all payroll related matters and offers guidance to managers and employees with their queries.

This permanent, part time position will require the successful candidate to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and reports directly to the People, Performance & Culture (PPC) Support Manager.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate processing and reconciliation of all pays
  • Reconciliation of all clearing accounts and preparation of month end journals
  • End of year reconciliation including preparation of payment summaries
  • Running and analysing reports, interpreting changes relating to enterprise agreements including schedules, RDO’s, banked hours, annualised rosters and future needs
  • Preparing and processing month end payments for employee deductions and superannuation

Qualifications and Qualities that you will bring to Timberlink:

  • Diploma in Accounting or similar
  • 8+ Years end to end payroll experience, EBA Interpretation 
  • Working knowledge of Chris 21 (essential)
  • Advanced MS Office Word & Excel
  • Time & Attendance systems (MitreFinch) – ability to update schedules, leave codes and pay rules.
  • NZ legislation including leave and termination calculations
  • SA, VIC, WA, NSW, TAS legislation and up to date knowledge of Awards
  • Maximise or other accounting systems experience
