Senior Environmental Advisor

About Tronox:

Tronox is a fully integrated titanium minerals producer and pigment manufacturer. Across our Australian operations, we extract and process rich mineral sands into a range of valuable products including ilmenite, zircon, rutile and titanium dioxide pigment which are then exported to international markets. 

Our sites are part of the global operations of Tronox Limited, the world’s leading integrated manufacturer of titanium dioxide. 
 

About the role:

Tronox is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor for its TiO2 pigment plants in the beautiful South West of Western Australia.

The position will report to the SHEQ Manager and will be offered on a permanent basis, working a standard Monday to Friday work schedule.
 
You will be offered a competitive salary and benefits package including; 12.5% Superannuation, 25% Leave Loading and participation in Tronox’s Bonus Scheme.
 
The Senior Environmental Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day implementation and administration of legally-compliant Environmental Management at the sites
  • Identify environmental risk, initiate investigations and provide recommendations
  • Establish and maintain an adequate working relationship with the appropriate government, industry and community environmental stakeholders
  • Conducting environmental monitoring and reporting on performance across all sites
  • Auditing of statutory requirements and operational controls used by operations to manage the environmental impacts arising from the company’s activities.
  • Conducting environmental monitoring data analysis and interpretation 
  • Facilitating sustainability initiatives, such as waste minimisation and energy efficiency programs
  • Coordinating the implementation and improvement of the company’s ISO 14001 certified EMS.


About you:

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

•    A relevant Degree in Environmental Science or closely related discipline
•    Relevant post graduate experience gained within the mining / resources sector
•    Experience working with an ISO 14001 accredited Environmental Management System 
•    Experience designing, implementing and monitoring environmental control systems
•    Strong  verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of the business and regulators
