Site Administrator

Who we are

Austral Construction is an established Engineering Contractor providing services to the Mining and Infrastructure sectors across Australia. All sites are assisted by our Head Office and Workshop support teams, who work with our sites to ensure our business runs effectively and efficiently in line with our mission statement, ‘To deliver safe, sustainable, high-quality projects and services which uphold our core values and the ‘Austral Construction’ legacy’.

 

What we are seeking

We are currently seeking a full-time Site Administrator to join our growing team to assist with project and site administration in Cairns, Queensland. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer you will be responsible for the general onboarding coordination, arranging pre-employment medicals, assisting with preparing rosters, travel arrangements, procurement and ensuring internal and external requests are fulfilled and deadlines are adhered to. Occasional Saturdays may be required.

Essentially the main duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with new starters by forecasting requirements and preparing for their arrival by organising employment paperwork, medicals (as required), and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Arrange flight and accommodation bookings for site based personnel, visitors and contractors
  • Friendly and professional customer service to all staff and visitors – internal and external
  • Maintain weekly staff registers
  • Maintain personnel timesheet records and process for weekly payment into the electronic payment system
  • Raise purchase order requisitions as required, follow up orders, arrange for delivery of goods and negotiate with suppliers;
  • Assist with organising site requirements for construction projects

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

To be the successful candidate, you will need to possess the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 2 years’ + experience in the office administration
  • Intermediate experience in data entry, flight & accommodation bookings
  • Experience with Pronto or similar ERP is desired though not essential
  • Demonstrated practical experience in an administrative position
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
