PAYROLL & FINANCE OFFICER

Somerville Retail Services (SRS) is a key supplier and produces retail ready meat products for Coles Supermarkets in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania. We utilise the latest technologies, systems and packaging technologies and operate to tight production schedules and logistics windows.

The primary purpose and objective of this role is to process payroll.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Weekly Payroll processing end to end 
  • Dealing with all payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Processing new starters/terminations/Redundancies/Back Pays/ETP's 
  • Monthly reconciliation, compliance and payments of Superannuation, Payroll Tax and Deductions
  • Year End processes including compliancy of internal and exporting reporting
  • Management of Time and attendance
  • Knowledge and Compliance of applicable awards and EBA's
  • Timely and accurate payroll reporting
  • Knowledge of and Processing single touch payroll
  • Monthly Balance sheet reconciliation of payroll accounts
  • Understanding Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable
  • Able to perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain an orderly filing system
  • Data entry as required
  • Provide administrative support as requested.

Skills, experience and attributes required for this position:

  • Minimum 3 years payroll/finance experience
  • Experience with payroll of 300-400 employees
  • Knowledge of Attache, Qtime and ACCPAC highly desirable but not essential
  • General Ledger knowledge (balance sheet - P/L)
  • Team player is a must
  • Excellent computer skills; Outlook and Excel 
  • Attention to detail, committed to deadlines & highly organised 
  • Strong problem-solving skills 
  • Reliable and punctual 
  • Respectful and professional
