Milling Manager

Purpose of the role

As the Mill Manager of our Hemmant feedmill you will be responsible for the mills successful operation including safety, quality, team leadership, process controls and meeting customer commitments. Individual Accountabilities

  • Ensure the site is and equipment and maintained in good condition at all times
  • Lead the culture, ensuring your site is open, honest and collaborative
  • Ensure all farms are supplied with enough feed, for their requirements
  • Represent the company with Industry, Government and Institutions
  • Mentor and coach your team
  • Ensure your site complies with Commonwealth, State or Local Government Acts, Regulations and By-Laws
  • Ensures process controls and HACCP principles are operating to standard
  • Ensure environment controls are operating to standard

Experience skills required

  • Experience of successfully managing a complex mill, ideally that produces pelletized feeds
  • Excellent working knowledge of complex process controls environment, including pelleting, liquid coating
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills with the ability to communicate cross functionally to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders
  • Proven track record of achieving departmental business plans and productivity agendas
  • Implemented and promoted continuous improvement initiatives, familiar with a culture of 5S, TPM, LEAN/Six Sigma
  • Able to working in a changing environment, and create a high performing culture

Qualifications/Licences

  • Bachelor Degree or Trade qualification in engineering, agriculture, nutrition or science
  • would be advantageous
