Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Case Manager

Mary & Martha’s domestic violence refuge provide safe, secure, short term accommodation for women and their children. Providing a safe haven is just the beginning of our support. We assist our clients to empower themselves with resilience and skills to actively work towards a better future for themselves and their children.

We are looking for experienced individual to join our team in a full time capacity, although flexibility around weekly hours may be available for the right applicant.   

Let’s talk about the role:

The Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Case Manager will be responsible to:

  • Work with women, children and young people within an evidence-based framework of risk and needs assessments, crisis intervention, strengths-based practice, skills building, empowerment and problem solving;
  • Identify and assess risk and needs for women and children;
  • Establish Goal Plans in conjunction with the women, children and relevant multi-disciplinary stakeholders;
  • Ensure Goal Plans and supports are consistent with contemporary research and industry standards;
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate programs / group work that assist women and their families to gain skills to assist them to re-establish themselves in the community;
  • Empower women to make decisions and choices about their lives and their children.

The successful applicant will:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, social or behavioural sciences
  • Significant experience working within community services, ideally domestic and family violence and/or Family Services or Child Safety 
  • Previous experience developing case plans for families experiencing domestic violence
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.

This position requires maintenance of a positive Working with Children (Blue Card) check and current Australian Driver’s License.
