  • Great rate $51.50per hour!

You will be working for a large Federal Government Organisation who work to support a better life for thousands of Australians.


About the role

You will be working within the Technical Advisory Team to support planners, partners and delegates to develop and approve necessary support plans in areas requiring specialist knowledge. You will work directly with internal and external staff in a coaching and mentoring role to develop their understanding and critical analytic thinking.


As a Technical adviser you will be responsible for

  • Providing subject matter expertise using a coaching and mentoring approach, advising on the most appropriate supports to achieve participant outcomes and complex decision making
  • Brokering solutions and supporting regional delegates with advice
  • Liaising and working cooperatively with stakeholders
  • Contributing to policy and operational guidelines required to maximise agency performance
  • Support regional delegates to undertake plan reviews
  • Independent research identifying best practice in your area of expertise, preparation of agency position papers and recommendations in your specialist area
  • Ensuring high quality written advice and record keeping, including competency with IT systems



Skills and experience

Ideally you will bring relevant qualifications in Nursing/ Speech Pathology or OT along with the following:

  • Competency with IT systems
  • Strong and adaptable communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise competing and urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner
  • Strong judgment and decision making skills
  • Ability to provide a mentor role within the team
