Human Resources Officer

Kiama Municipality boasts lush rolling hills, unspoilt beaches, ancient rainforests, welcoming towns and villages and of course our two famous blowholes.          Home to almost 23,000 people from Minnamurra in the north to the white sands of Gerroa to the south.

  • Great coastal lifestyle
  • Flexible working arrangements

Join our dedicated and enthusiastic team who are committed to creating a Municipality that has a healthy, vibrant, beautiful environment and harmonious connected and resilient community. We are focused on, not only achieving our organisational goals but assisting staff to realise their professional and personal goals.

The role:

We are recruiting for a temporary part time Human Resources Officer for 21 hours per week (days of work negotiable) until 26th June 2020.  The primary focus of this role is to support Blue Haven transition to their new site.  This will include:

  • Provide consistent, accurate and timely advice on Human Resource, Industrial, Award and legislative matters
  • Coordinate the recruitment, on-boarding and induction processes
  • Coordinate Council’s exit/termination process
  • Provide input into Human Resources metrics, reporting and strategic plans
  • Provide assistance in grievance, investigation or workplace conflict matters
  • Assist to develop, implement, maintain and review Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Assist with the implementation of the Performance Management System including coordinating the probation and competency review processes

Blue Haven offers a true continuum of aged care services and a wide range of disability services for people in the local region. It is a not-for-profit organisation owned and operated by Kiama Municipal Council and a significant provider of aged care services both within the Municipality and the Illawarra region. Blue Haven Care Home is an 82-bed residential home located in Kiama.

It is an exciting time to join our dedicated team as we are in the process of re-developing the old Kiama Hospital site into an Aged Care Centre for Excellence which will include a 134 bed residential aged care facility with other facilities and services. This is due to open in November 2019.

 We offer:

  • Temporary part time, 21 hours per week (arrangement of hours negotiable) to 26th June 2020.
  • Weekly salary from $726.96 to $849.24 (depending on qualifications, skills and experience)
  • Plus 9.5% superannuation
