Supply Chain Coordinator

An opportunity exists for a skilled and knowledgeable Supply Chain professional to grow their career and contribute to the community by joining our friendly and growing team at Life Saving Victoria.  

Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak Water safety and Lifesaving organisation and is committed to its mission to prevent aquatic related death and injury across all Victorian communities. We strive to provide all Victorians with water safety, swimming, resuscitation, and safe beaches, water environments and aquatic venues. 

Life Saving Victoria has over 35,000 volunteer members from 57 clubs across Victoria, with a workforce of over 450 staff during peak season and a vast network through our licensees, partners and industry.  With the head office in Port Melbourne, LSV operates across 3 warehouse locations with the primary in Carrum Downs. 

The Supply Chain Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight of the end to end supply chain activities for the Carrum Downs warehouse.  This will include planning and forecasting, inventory and equipment management, purchasing/procurement across the organisation and sales order fulfilment including supporting our online sales platform 

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role will involve planning resources, operations and purchasing, communicating across the organisations, with many different business units and stakeholders.  With a strong emphasis on safety, quality control and efficiencies.  

To succeed in this position you will need to have a strong customer focused, a process and planning champion and thrive in a fast paced operational environment. 

Key Selection Criteria; 

Ideal candidate: this position would ideally suit a qualified person in logistics and supply chain, with a strong understanding of procurement , warehousing, freight and distribution, business operations, supply chain analytics and the management of human and physical resources. You will have a minimum of 2 years + experience in warehousing practices, including purchasing, inwards goods, dispatch, inventory control and equipment management functions.  You will enjoy working in teams, be solution focused and can be relied upon to “make it happen”. 

Specific requirements: Strong understanding of warehouse processes from purchasing through to delivery and customer satisfaction. You will have exposure to overseeing staff and warehouse operations with the ability to take responsibility of the warehouse.  A focus on continuous improvement and a commitment to creating a safe and productive work environment. You must hold a current driver license and be able to obtain a Working with Children check. 

Personal attributes: You will enjoy taking ownership of your results and working to get the best out of people. You will be adaptable with the ability to review and change plans due to sudden events or change in priorities.   

Communication skills: You will have exceptional communications skills with a strong focus on keeping stakeholders and customers updated and to communicate plans, changes, priorities and requirements both verbally and written are paramount.
