About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a number of  Additional Assistants to join our Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS) program. The roles are part-time, varying according to the needs of the child being supported.   These are permanent positions.

We are seeking staff to work in the following local government areas:

  • Boroondara
  • Knox
  • Manningham
  • Maroondah
  • Monash
  • Whitehorse
  • Yarra Ranges

The Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS) program

  • provides funding packages
  • builds the capacity of State funded kindergarten programs
  • supports the access and participation of children with disabilities and developmental delays, and on-going high-support needs and/or complex medical needs

The provision of an Additional Assistant to the kindergarten increases the staff in the group and facilitates the ability of all staff at the kindergarten to work with all children. Where a child with severe disabilities requires intensive one to one support this role is undertaken by all staff in rotation not just the Additional Assistant.
