Underground Driller Assistants

DIAMOND DRILLER ASSISTANT – UNDERGROUND CORING DIVISION

  • Get paid to be trained and qualified
  • FIFO from Perth – 2/1 swings
  • C Class Drivers Licence and Police Clearance are a MUST
  • Tough and physically demanding position

 

We need  Driller Assistants to work 2/1 swings (FIFO from Perth) within our WA Underground Coring team, starting as soon as possible after testing and induction.

About the Role

As a Driller's Assistant you will be:

  • Conducting daily pre-start equipment checks
  • Assisting with routine maintenance
  • Assisting with mixing drilling mud’s/ fluids/ chemicals/ cement
  • Assisting with loading and unloading heavy vehicles
  • Maintaining a clean and a hazard free work environment
  • Setting up/ dismantling/ moving drill rigs and equipment
  • Cleaning drill rigs, vehicles, equipment and tools
  • Assist to set up/ dismantle/ move rigs and associated equipment
  • Conducting and completing necessary safety paperwork and processes
  • Working 12 hour shifts, rotating between day and night shift

Do you have what it takes?

We need people with a passion for drilling with a can-do attitude.  A Driller Assistant is a tough and physically demanding position and we require people who are willing to work hard. This role best suits someone from a labouring or physical background. You will be an integral part of the team, working with others in a professional and considerate manner. You will also need the following to be considered:

  • Proactive attitude towards safety and hazard identification
  • Current C Class Manual Drivers Licence
  • National Police Clearance (within the last six months)
  • Right to work in Australia
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical (including fitness testing) and pass an alcohol and drug test
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Mechanically minded
  • A resident of WA or relocating to WA as flights are only provided from Perth
  • Prior drilling and mining experience is not essential but preferred
