About the opportunity

This is an exciting role that sits within our Marketing and Innovation team. BP has just announced its intention to launch its own Loyalty program - BP Rewards which will reinvent our customer’s digital and reward experiences at BP. The Direct Marketing & CRM Advisor role is pivotal to this evolution and leads the strategy, design, development and execution of all associated data driven direct marketing. This role will also lead best practice contact planning and execution of all email and other direct campaigns associated with BP’s current customer programs. Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Strategy development, design and execution of life cycle-based contact plans for BP Rewards, BPs proprietary loyalty program (launching early 2020)
  • Develop operational process for campaign development post-launch of BP Rewards
  • Work collaboratively with senior BTL stakeholders at loyalty partner/s to design and deliver acquisition programs and contact plans for joint members
  • Step change BP’s marketing programs through increasing customer choice of communication channels and unleashing the power of customer data to deliver highly relevant, personalised 1 to 1 communication
  • Own the development and delivery of email and other BTL marketing campaigns associated with the Velocity program including contact planning, commercial assessment, and legal approvals
  • Work closely with the customer analytics specialist to develop campaigns based on loyalty segmentation and previous campaign results to optimise ROI
  • Relationship owner with external CRM Agency
  • Maximise campaign performance metrics by optimising allocated CRM marketing budget and continuous improvement on activities



About you

To be successful in the Direct Marketing & CRM Advisor role you will ideally have:

  • Extensive experience in developing lifecycle contact planning and delivery of an ongoing program of direct communications, interfacing with agencies or third-party marketing suppliers
  • Strong credentials as a data driven marketer with a track record of creating compelling offers and campaigns based on a range of data and insight
  • Understanding of the different approaches required for a launch program vs a mature program
  • Proven experience executing email marketing campaigns, preferably within a retail environment, with a focus on both retention and delivering ROI
  • Experience working with and managing external agencies
  • Deep understanding of Customer Segmentation and targeted offers with a track record of increasing the value of customers
  • Strong influencing and relationship management skills
  • Campaign Management Platform experience at an enterprise level - Adobe Classic, Salesforce or Responsys highly regarded
  • Sound Knowledge of Customer Insights - understanding of current needs and ability to anticipate changes in demand
  • Work within a loyalty program would be highly advantageous
