We offer a diverse range of high quality therapy and support services to children and young people in the community or at one of our Service Centres.

What is the Role?

We are looking to hire multiple support workers to provide 24 hour support and community access to customers during their stay at our Respite getaway, as well as in our Lifestyle & Leisure programs assisting with personal care, daily activities, achievement of goals and life skills.

Please note that you must have the availability to work flexible working hours – including early starts, late finishes, Awake shifts (10pm-7am) & sleepovers.

Our Getaway centre in Labrador is a newly established facility with modern, high quality equipment. This centre offers customers the opportunity to have a short break with their friends and peers in the heart of the Gold Coast, with easy access to theme parks, beaches, shopping and restaurants.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide physical and personal care to customers.
  • General light domestic duties.
  • Assisting customers to attain their goals.
  • Maintain customer progress notes.
  • Communicate with supervisors and peers.
  • Maintain customer and family confidentiality.
  • Providing assistance on a casual basis/ up to but not limited to 3 days a week.

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant experience in disability support.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical requirements of providing support as a Direct Support Worker.
  • Highly motivated and caring individual.
  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Current (or eligible for) a Blue Card and Yellow Card Exemption.
  • A current drivers’ license and access to a reliable vehicle are essential.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and an understanding of the importance of professional boundaries and practice.
  • Capacity to assist in all duties and be confident to do so autonomously.
  • General computer skills and a high level of energy & enthusiasm towards the work you do.
  • Available for immediate start/ to commence at a short notice.
