Systems Engineer
Our Client is a global leader in the development, design and integration of software providing innovative solutions to a niche industry sector. With over 35 offices worldwide, their Australian owned and operated subsidiary boasts local market leadership. Here is an exceptional opportunity to join their Network Services Team in a pivotal role.

Specific duties include:-
  • System & Security Administration
  • Installation and configuration of primarily Windows and Linux servers, multiple Citrix environments, VMWare clusters, storage area network and equipment and server hardware
  • Assist in the planning, designing, building, operation and maintenance of complex web farms
  • Identifying, resolving and providing support for network and system related problems
  • Provide system and security support for clients, end users and business partners
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new projects
  • Assist in evaluation and integration of new security products
  • Develop tools to help monitor and prevent problems with production systems
  • Liaise with service vendors
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of VOIP based telephone systems
  • Assist with the administration of Databases - MS SQL and/or Oracle
  • Assist with the purchase of software, hardware and other IT supplies
To be considered for this role you will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in an Information Technology related discipline
  • At least 5 years experience as a Systems Engineer in a large company with complex networks with sufficient exposure to networking concepts and administration 
  • Good knowledge of network engineering concepts and systems administration 
  • Sound knowledge of common operating systems (Windows - essential, Linux / Unix - preferable)
  • Sound knowledge of Cisco network devices
  • Good experience in TCP/IP networks in both LAN and WAN environments
  • Highly motivated self-starter with proven abilities to get the job done
  • Familiar with VMware server setup and configuration - essential
  • Familiar with Databases - preferably MS SQL and/or Oracle
  • Knowledge of email systems, servers
As you will liaise with clients regularly, excellent communication skills are essential (both written and oral).  You will be comfortable working as part of a team and also independently and demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day work.  You will also be someone who is passionate about learning new technologies and working for a leading software firm!
