Senior Web Intelligence Design/Builder

The Senior Web Intelligence Designer/Builder is responsible for leading the development of reports and dashboards to meet business reporting, forecasting and analytics needs within the Digital Enterprise Building Blocks (DEBBs) Portfolio.

The Role Will

  • Provide high level expert knowledge and design to develop reports and dashboards using SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, on Energy Queensland’s upcoming Enterprise Intelligence Platform (EIP);
  • Design and execute unit, integration, performance and security testing of WEBI reports to ensure the quality standards are met and the business requirements are satisfied and the report performs to specifications;
  • Provide professional, timely and effective Web solutions design and implementation services to the DEBBs Portfolio of Projects, including technical advice on complex matters relating to the Enterprise Intelligence Platform;
  • Comply with Enterprise Intelligence Platform (EIP) modelling standards, ring-fencing rules, security and privacy obligations, quality rules and the Energy Queensland Information Management Framework;
  • Lead, mentor and conduct code reviews of other Web Inteligence work and provide feedback to upskill and inpart knowledge to ensure alignment with quality standards;
  • Lead the handover to operational teams at the conclusion of the project;
  • Conduct analysis to determine best path for solving business problems/opportunities which may include process improvement, systems enhancement and user training;
  • Deliver high quality specifications and ensure other artefacts are reviewed to ensure alignment with Enterprise Intelligence Platform (EIP) modelling standards;
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, quality assurance and management of the effective use of external contracting services to ensure that all services provided satisfy customer requirements including agreed deadlines and compliance with internal standards;
  • Provide recommendations appropriate to customer business requirements through the application of professional business skills and knowledge;
  • Provide quality assurance and expert advice to relevant stakeholders across Energy Queensland, on the effective use of visualisation tools and standards;
  • Manage and escalate system enhancements and resolve system issues to agree specifications;
  • Meet project deadlines by using appropriate project management techniques;
  • Provide expert business and data analysis support to customers within the business;
  • Frequently interact, provide mentoring and systems analysis support to the business report writers and domain experts within the business; and
  • Provide technical specialiast expertise to improve how data is accessed through creation of appropriate structures within the universe and semantic layer.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated extensive and expert knowledge and experience in report design, build and test experience in SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence;
  • Demonstrated expert experience in optimising Web Intelligence reports;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work on high pressure projects with a focus on outcomes and deliverables and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge and experience in estimating the end to end effort required to deliver reports against specifications to required standards;
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring technical staff and reviewing deliverables to provide constructive feedback Experience working in an agile project environment;
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced problem solving, relational databases, analytical skills and ability to write queries and use querying tools and techniques to develop reports and models and interrogate data;
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of information management principles;
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills resulting in the attainment of practical solutions that meets business requirements; and
  • Demonstrated ability in establishing effective relationships with internal stakeholders by working collaboratively across a diverse stakeholder network, negotiating and influencing others to achieve quality outcomes for the customer community and business which meet current and future needs.
