Head of Social Sciences

We aim to develop each student’s love of learning, love of others and love of God. In this way, students become people of heartfelt service, intellect, leadership and integrity. Our goal is to grow students’ critical thinking and personal capacity, equipping them with the skills necessary to be successful, productive and responsible global citizens.

Owing the appointment of the incumbent to an external Director of Curriculum Innovation role, we have determined to have two separate faculties within HSIE.  As such, the opportunity exists to join our team as Secondary Head of Social Sciences (Learning Leader) from the start of the 2020 academic year.

We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced, collaborative Christian educators who have a track record of enhancing student love of learning through:

  • modelling teacher excellence
  • strengthening academic outcomes
  • providing effective people leadership to maximise team performance
  • process management to support high standards of teaching and learning
  • implementing strategies to support team wellbeing
  • developing and maintaining positive, professional and parental relationships

Requirements:

  • NESA accreditation and recent teaching experience in Stage 6
  • highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • desire and capacity to work as a wider school team member
  • flexibility and interest in working in a dynamic Christian community
  • an active Christian faith and current church involvement
  • a current Working With Children Check approval number
