Wholesale Account Manager

Merlo Coffee began more than 27 years ago with a simple philosophy – freshly roasted coffee served by people who are passionate about coffee. We have always understood that great coffee is just the beginning of the relationship.

Today, Merlo is proud to be one of Australia’s leading independently owned and operated coffee roasters, who supply the public, our own Merlo Coffee stores and 1,600 cafes and restaurants with freshly roasted coffee around the country every day.

About the role

As a Wholesale Account Manager, you will be a part of the driving force behind Merlo Coffee supplying cafes in the Northern and Western regions of Melbourne and along the coast of Victoria down to Geelong.  All tools of trade including a vehicle, mobile and laptop will be provided with this role.

The key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Account management: Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships through a hands on customer centric approach;
  • New Business Development: Proactively build Merlo’s customer base through the acquisition of strategically aligned new accounts;
  • Product Knowledge: Educate customers with up to date knowledge, training and information on Merlo Coffee products, merchandise and services;
  • Customer Service: Aside from providing excellent customer service, roactively work with customers to grow their business outside of purely coffee sales
  • Machine Maintenance and Support:  Be the first who customers contact to help resolve any kind of machinery related issues or required training in machine maintenance.
  • Industry Knowledge: Monitor emerging trends and competition to ensure Merlo’s product offering remains relevant and competitive;
  • Reporting: Regular reporting detailing customer relationships, sales and incentive programs. 

About you

To be successful in this exciting role, you will have:

  • Three (3) years’ experience in B2B sales within the coffee industry is a must.
  • A strategic and entrepreneurial thought style, balanced with a “hands on” approach;
  • An outgoing personality coupled with a genuine love of sales and customer service;
  • A passion for coffee – join us in our obsession for the taste of quality coffee and the entire crop to cup process.
  • A 'can-do' attitude - this means contributing to a positive workplace culture where nothing is impossible;
  • A valid Open drivers’ licence, with the ability to travel;
