Senior Project Manager - Capital Works

As a Category 1 Land Manager of Crown Land, we are currently responsible for 37 Holiday Parks on Crown Land extending from Brunswick Heads and Bryon Bay in the North, to Eden in the South. It is an exciting time to come on board as we look to future-proof the business and build awareness of our new brand.

About the Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who has the passion and skills to help us deliver our mission of “transforming our traditional caravan and camping parks into the most desirable destinations that exceed the recreational and accommodation needs of visitors from Australia and overseas”.

Reporting to the Executive Manager – Capital Works, you will be responsible for delivering holiday park redevelopments and managing multiple concurrent capital works and maintenance projects. Projects you can expect to lead delivery of include:

  • installation of manufactured cabins or glamping tents and other innovative accommodation offerings,
  • delivery of playgrounds, pools, foreshore rejuvenation and major landscaping / beautification works,
  • civil road works and boat ramps,
  • water, wastewater and power upgrade projects, including piping, treatment plants, solar farms, and substations,
  • new building works, from kiosks, offices, public amenities upgrades to fuel stations.
  • delivery of innovative environmental tourism offerings, such as mountain bike trails and walking tracks.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • ‘End to End’ Client-side project management of multiple, concurrent capital works projects ranging from $250K to $12M.
  • Management of project teams of external consultants, planners, architects, contract administrators and contractors.
  • Collaborative engagement and consultation with internal and external stakeholders, including Reflections marketing, operations and finance teams, as well as Crown Lands delegates, local government representatives, aboriginal land councils and community groups.
  • Ability to articulate complex engineering and infrastructure projects and problems in written and verbal format to executive managers, Board Members and broader internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Drive zero harm to people and the environment throughout project delivery.
  • Develop and gain approval of business cases, project delivery plans and Development Applications for your respective projects.
  • Input into development of the forecast capital works program and budget.
  • Ensure infrastructure delivered is embedded within the Asset Management Plan.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions on capital works and asset maintenance issues in relation to general engineering issues, manufactured buildings, infrastructure, roads and services.
  • Provide technical advice on environmental plans and analysis.
  • Mentor other project managers within the team.

This role involves routine travel across operational locations in NSW to fulfill the requirements of the role.

To be successful in this role you will have the following 

Essential:

  • Tertiary or Trade Qualifications in either engineering, building, project management, land or property management, construction or other relevant qualifications.
  • Significant experience in planning, management and delivery of building, civil, construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of, contemporary project management practices, particularly related to construction in government organisations.

Desirable:

  • Sound knowledge and experience of gaining approval (Development Applications or Part 5 Assessments) to execute construction projects consistent with NSW Government Planning legislation.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in construction related procurement under NSW Government Procurement Guidelines.
  • Exposure to NSW local government and Crown Lands legislation.
  • Passion for tourism development.
  • Passion for continual improvement and professional development.
