Front Office Receptionist

The Avenue Hotel Canberra is looking for highly motivated, professional, ambitious and passionate Receptionist to join the front office team. We are looking for casual and full time positions.

The Avenue is located in the heart of the city and boasts 213 hotel rooms, spa suites and apartments. Nestled in Avenue Hotel is our award winning restaurant Marble and Grain.

The Avenue is part of The Capital Hotel Group which offers over 575 rooms across 3 hotels.  A career with the Capital Hotel Group will open a world of opportunities. As one of the first points of contact for the hotel you be responsible for:
 

  • The check in and check out of hotel guests, maintaining guest accounts, taking reservations, answering all calls and assisting guests with all guest requests
  • Driving revenue targets by effectively managing the team
  • Liaising with all departments within the hotel
  • Ensuring that all guests feel welcome and comfortable
     

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

  • Previous reservations and or receptionist experience
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Fantastic attention to detail
  • Passion for hospitality and customer service
  • High presentation standards
  • Previous experience in a Front Office Hotel environment is preferred
  • Experience with a hotel operation program
  • Good time management
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Reliable and honest
  • Self motivated
