About the Role

Would you like to further your experience from producing at-home podcasts and/or live mixing skills into a working career?

This is an excellent opportunity to kick start you career in Audio Operations and Production. We are looking for candidates with a genuine interest in radio and audio production. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge in technical and operational practice.

You’ll learn and develop skills in audio storytelling and engineer live broadcasts on-air and online. No formal qualifications are necessary.  A very keen interest in audio operations is required. If you do have tertiary experience in audio productions and you’re ready to take the next step then this is a great opportunity to progress into a rewarding career.

ABC Entertainment & Specialist is seeking someone to work in Audio Operations and Production to record, mix and transmit audio content for Entertainment and Specialist programs on multiple platforms.

This is a development position that features on-the-job training.

Reporting to the Manager Audio Radio Operations you will learn to:

  • Provide operational support for live to air studio-based transmission and pre-recorded programs, outside recordings and broadcasts and assist with other audio projects.
  • Perform mixdown for studio and field produced content under limited direction.
  • Train and learn DAW platforms and automated playout systems.
  • Manage routine audio operational and transmission problems.

About You

We are looking for a person with appropriate educational qualifications and/or relevant experience. Ideally, you will bring to this role:

  • An interest and appreciation of broadcast technologies, systems and equipment.
  • Understanding of network arrangements, an ability to adapt to new technology and develop an understanding of broadcast networking.
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong computer literacy skills.
  • Willingness to understand the aims and roles of the content team members of the production team and have the ability to make a creative contribution to programs.
