The Mechanical Engineer – Turbine position requires the development, implementation and maintenance of asset life cycle plans. The role will also provide day-to-day engineering and maintenance support for the power station and ensures that all station mechanical and engineering matters are addressed in a consistent, timely, safe, reliable, efficient and cost effective manner.

This position provides technical and engineering direction in the following plant areas; Turbine centre line rotating and stationary high pressure and temperature components, Emergency stop and governor valves, turbine protection and vibration monitoring equipment, oil systems, drains, flash vessels and valves, condensate and feedwater systems and cooling towers and associated equipment.

The key accountabilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with Synergy’s Regulatory Compliance Policy;
  • Ensuring customer needs and requirements are aligned with Key Performance indicators;
  • Define and support the planning systems for maintenance employees and contractors.
  • Accountable to Provide Asset management and Production Support at a Power Station or within a specialised Engineering Stream; and
  • Ensuring a safe working environment.

To be successful, we are looking for people with the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering;
  • Experience with power station mechanical engineering maintenance models, policies and procedures;
  • Financial and budgeting skills;
  • Safe working practices and procedures;
  • People, customer and stakeholder management skills; and
  • Generation mechanical primary and secondary plant and their application.
