Team Leader - Nursery

Western Work Force is a leading Australian owned and operated Recruitment & Labour Hire business with its head office located in Perth, Western Australia. We specialise in providing Labour Hire, Professional and Engineering & Technical staff to all industries across Australia.

Our Client is a leading company in the food production/farming sector and are looking to appoint a Nursery Team Leader for their northern suburbs operation. This position is offered on a permanent basis, working Monday to Friday (7am – 4pm) and working Saturday's (7am - 10:30am).

Main duties will include:
  • Leading a team of nursery hands, providing instructions and support 
  • Prepares fertilizers and mixing agrochemicals
  • Apply fertilizer, pesticide, fungicide in accordance to the Propagation Manager directions
  • Record information daily about plants and plant growth, maintain accurate records
  • Maintain clean and sanitized greenhouse areas, clean work areas
  • Store, clean, and organise trays, pallets, tools, equipment and other materials
  • Perform other adhoc tasks as required or at the request of the Manager
To be considered for this position, you will:
  • Previous experience as a team leader, managing people.
  • Have full working rights within Australia (Citizen or Permanent Resident).
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence with reliable transport.
  • Interest in horticulture
  • Ability and desire to learn, gain new and additional skills and improve nursery related competencies
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written
  • Commitment to Quality, tasks, and ability to persist and accomplish work in spite of obstacles and distractions, without direct supervision
  • Attention to detail necessary for achieving established standards, ability to keep detailed and accurate records.
