Billing Services Officer

Mackay Regional Council is looking for an experienced Billing Services Officer to join our Billing Services team, on a temporary basis, until April 2020.

The ideal person will maintain the integrity of council’s Property and Finance databases and providing administrative support as necessary. All administrative tasks undertaken are aligned to business service level agreements (SLA) and completed in line with council’s policies, procedures, requirements and statutory regulations.

 

Your main duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Maintain council databases in a timely and accurate manner to ensure quality output, support and advice to all customers, including but not limited to Pathway, Finance 1 and Ci Anywhere.
  • Provide administrative support as required to stakeholders to deliver on SLA’s
  • Respond to general enquiries as required across all channels.
  • Apply policy to Billing Services processes as required by relevant legislation and acts.
  • Contribute to an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to achieving team objectives, work effectively as a team member and provide assistance to other team members as necessary to contribute a multi skilled environment.
  • Deliver a consistently high level of professional quality service to internal and external customers across all channels.

 

The successful applicant will have the following knowledge and skills:

  • Minimum two years in a similar administrative support role
  • Current "C" class manual driver's licence
  • Knowledge or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the statutory and working requirements of council’s Property, Rating, Accounts Receivable and Health & Regulatory systems and processes
  • Good clerical and computer skills including proficiency with data entry
  • Effective communication skills including conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to provide administrative support requiring the exercise of sound judgement, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity
