About the Role...

The City of Playford is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) to fill an Independent Member vacancy on the Corporate Governance Committee. Expressions of interest are being sought from members of the public who have relevant skills and experience in professions such as, but not limited to, accounting, financial management, risk management, law, compliance, internal audit and governance.

The Committee meets a minimum of six times per annum at 4:30pm on the first Tuesday of the month at the Playford Civic Centre, 10 Playford Boulevard, Elizabeth. A sitting fee per meeting will be paid to the successful applicant. The proposed term of the appointment is 1 January 2020 – 31 March 2023.

The role of the Committee is to assist Council to fulfil audit, governance, financial and risk responsibilities as set out in the Corporate Governance Committee Charter available on Council’s website - www.playford.sa.gov.au.

The Committee is required to review developments and adequacy of principles, policies and practices of financial planning and reporting; corporate governance, risk management and internal controls and make recommendations to Council as appropriate.
