Journey Beyond is a dynamic experienced-based tourism business. Our main purpose is to share the special places in which we operate and create and shape lasting memories for all our guests. Our Rail Division, previously known as Great Southern Rail ("GSR") operates Australia's iconic rail journeys, The Ghan, Indian Pacific, The Overland and our new addition to the fleet the Great Southern launching in December this year from Adelaide to Brisbane.

About the role

The role will be responsible for providing a range of high-quality services and experiences to guests at the Adelaide Parklands Terminal including guest arrival and check-in, terminal experience and departure. The role will be the main point of contact for guests and will personally ensure special requests are accommodated and service issues addresses and dealt with accordingly.

Responsibilities

Key requirements of the role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Effective check-in and receipt of luggage for loading on-board
  • Provide arriving and departing guests with high quality concierge services, including check-in duties
  • Service of guests in the main terminal (food, beverage and guest enquiries)
  • Operating the Souvenir and Merchandise area and Café (includes cash handling, taking orders, serving coffee/food)
  • General administrative duties to support guest bookings
  • General housekeeping duties

All successful applicants will require flexibility with their working hours. The individual will be required to perform some lifting duties, including regular light lifting of supplies and materials, and be required to lift luggage during check-in services. The role will require long periods of time on your feet as well as sitting.

A uniform will be provided to allow you to maintain professionalism and personal presentation in line with our company personality.

Candidates with previous experience in either Hotel Concierge Services or Hospitality Customer Service are desirable.
