We are currently seeking a Supervisor (Afternoon Shift) for our Dry Freight warehouse team at our Forrestfield site.

Your primary role will be to ensure all loading / unloading dock functions are completed safely, efficiently and according to time schedules. 

Reporting to the WA Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:  

  • Supervision and management of staff for your particular warehouse across the shift
  • Checking all weight & cubic measurements from load sheets
  • Liaison with fleet coordinators
  • Supervision of Loading/Unloading of Trailers/Containers/ Rail Wagons
  • Ability to plan the shift’s loads and accommodate any extra work tasks as required throughout the workday
  • Investigation of customer complaints, warehouse searches
  • Time management and prioritisation of vehicle loading/unloading
  • Capture of loading accuracy information
  • Ensuring labour allocation to various tasks is recorded accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintaining and reporting on KPIs to the WA Operations manager
  • HACCP Compliance
  • Be available as required for weekend work
  • Ensuring high levels of housekeeping and safe work practices are maintained
  • To plan and conduct workplace tool box meetings
  • Updating/Maintaining TMS timecard system for workgroup
  • Reporting and monitoring OHS procedures throughout the warehouse
  • Overall accountability/ownership for the shift and employees allocated to that shift

    The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous supervisory experience in the transport industry preferably in a FMCG warehouse or transit terminal environment.
  • The ability to supervise the operation on their own.
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate and manage staff.
  • A customer service focus, along with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer and keyboard skills.
  • Clear written and oral planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to ensure OHS requirements are met.
