Data Analyst - Mining Control Room

Join Australia's most exciting new underground mining project. Carrapateena will be a large scale world class mine built and operated by world class people. We are building a modern mine site in South Australia and getting operationally ready for seamless commissioning. This role is now available and we need your help.

About the Role

Location: Site based at Carrapateena

Roster: 8 days on 6 days off; travel 100% on company time from Adelaide or Port Augusta

Reporting to: Site Operations Centre (SOC) Supervisor

Pay & Benefits: We offer competitive Australian mining industry pay and benefits. We can talk about specifics later.

 

Key Responsibilities

Data Analyst - Mining Control Room will focus on ensuring the value of Carrapateena is maximised. Specifically, this includes:

  • Work with operational teams to identify improvement opportunities for mining/processing activities by applying statistical tools across multiple data sets
  • Validate improvement opportunities through the analysis of historic data and assist in the implementation of value add improvements using a staged approach
  • Work with operational teams (both mining and processing) to create performance reporting tools that display key metrics in a daily, weekly monthly format
  • Work with operational teams for daily optimisation of the mine to mill process
  • Attend daily meetings to validate previous 24 hour performance based on the data captured from the Site Operations Centre
  • Provide shift coverage to Control Room Operators where required to support our Lean model
  • Provide a duty of care to Carrapateena Operations and record safety related matters as they occur.

 

Applicant Requirements

This role requires a values based individual with a desire to deliver best practice outcomes with skills and personal attributes including:

  • Ability to articulate and present key information in various formats (tables, charts, reports)
  • Proven background in business improvement and/or projects. Includes ability to scope project intent, collect, manipulate and present data in a statistically appropriate manner
  • Experience with control room systems/programs relating to data capture in mining and processing operations
  • High level of understanding with Excel around data extraction and interpretation
  • Highly experienced in mining and/or processing operations
  • Ability to work productively with people from different backgrounds in a remote location
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Highly driven and self-motivated
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • A solid safety mindset.
