Business Analyst

Business Analyst

Astute Payroll is a cloud-based software platform that aims to automate and simplify the management of complex workforces. Our solution includes Employee Self Service, Payroll, Invoicing and Reporting modules, and is widely used in the recruitment and apprentice/trainee sectors.

We recently celebrated 10 years as a multi award-winning business and continue to build great partnerships with clients across Australia and New Zealand. Our newly renovated office is in the heart of the Melbourne CBD and offers a modern and laid-back vibe. Team culture is one of our biggest priorities, providing an environment where we work hard but also have a lot of fun together.

The Role

We currently have a new opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Product Team in Melbourne. As a Business Analyst, you will become the SME for a section of our technology. You will be tasked with ensuring that development requirements are understood, analysed, specified and ultimately delivered to meet requirements. In this role you will be required to work together with Client Services, Development, QA, Delivery and Management.

If you’re a Business Analyst or Technical Analyst with SAAS experience, keen eye for detail, and loves detailed but easily understood documentation - this will be for you.

What you would do?

The main things you would do include:

  • Analyse product development items

  • Design, define and articulate product development items into both client facing and internal functional specifications

  • Work with the Development and QA Teams during the SDLC to ensure the development meets specifications

How can I tell if this is for me?

If this sounds like you then please apply:

  • Experience writing functional specifications and documents within a Software Development environment

  • An open, collaborative personality with the ability to provide plain language advice on technical issues to non-technical audiences both internally and externally, including internal and external stakeholders

  • Understanding of SDLC and managing requirements through development

  • Skills in facilitating meetings and discussions

  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are someone who thrives in driving multiple projects in parallel

  • Ideally from a Payroll/Fintech background, you must be truly excited at the prospect of delivering customer focused products that change lives

  • Tertiary qualification and/or recognised industry BA certification preferred but not essential

What’s in it for you?

We offer a number of benefits including:

  • Industry level salary

  • An eco-friendly work environment specifically bike friendly

  • Office a short walk from Flinders St. Station

  • Free gym membership next door - they even provide a towel and outfit!

  • A fully stocked drinks both during the week and the “special fridge” on Friday arvo’s

  • Social gatherings and more!
