About the Role

Planet Plumbing are seeking a State Manager for the Victorian operation. Reporting to the General Manager, this position is based in Melbourne and will oversee all activities within the Victorian business and ensure that the results delivered meet the service, quality and productivity deliverables aligned to the strategic objectives of the Company.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the CEO and General Manager to deliver the Company's long-term vision, strategies, plans objectives and targets.
  • Strong business development skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the estimating and tendering process.
  • Preparation of realistic plans to achieve the desired objectives and the associated budgets and forecasts as necessary.
  • Preparation of regular reports for the General Manager, CEO and CFO on the performance of the Company and revise budgets and forecasts as necessary.
  • Accurately assess and review present and future needs, trends, problems and opportunities for the Company, and make appropriate recommendations for revision of the Company's vision, strategies, plans, etc.
  • Ensure the profitability and viability of the Company
  • Review of projects to ensure they are being delivered in compliance with Client and Groups requirements (milestones).
  • Maintain effective and efficient overall Management of the Company including the Quality Assurance System and Workplace Health and Safety, maintaining clear, precise communication and a good relationship with all internal and external clientele.
  • Building client relationships, planning and organising resources to ensure a quality project is delivered on time and on budget
  • Report on, assess and analyse business performance and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Drive and promote safe behaviour in accordance with Planet policies and procedures
  • Strong work ethic focused on safety & quality.
  • Liaise with clients & local suppliers, co-ordinate procurement and deliveries to meet program.
  • Develop and foster client and project stakeholder relationships.
  • Understand project processes, software and are able to develop / structure / support the Victorian construction teams.

Essential criteria for this role include:

  • Project Management qualification &/or proven experience working as a Project Manager or similar role.
  • Qualified in plumbing drainage & gas fitting. 
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Solid leader with great interpersonal communication skills.  
  • Self-motivated & able to work autonomously & problem solve.
  • Possess a Professional & Positive attitude.
  • Have a proven track record in delivering commercial plumbing projects from $3m to $25m+.
