    About the role:        

    As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the General Practitioner is expected to personally contribute to the shaping and achievement of ATSICHS vision and goals.

    The General Practitioner will deliver comprehensive and holistic health care within the framework of the IUIH model of care to achieve improved health outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Culturally appropriate health care provision begins with rapport building and includes acute illness or injury, prevention, early detection, chronic disease management, care throughout the life span, health promotion, support for social-emotional wellbeing and consideration of the social determinants of health.

    About you:

    Essential:

    • MBBS
    • Vocational Registration
    • Unconditional registration with AHPRA
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a medical practitioner in a general practice / primary health care setting (including post-graduate training)
    • Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
    • Ability to support a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes.
    • Decisive listening, influencing and persuasive skills.
    • Current Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply

    Desirable, but not mandatory:

    • Previous experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
    • Registered GPTQ supervisor or  eligible and willing to become a GPTQ supervisor.
