What is the position?

The purpose of the role is to identify procurement & logistics needs of the business, apply commercial acumen innovatively to these needs and implement strategies that deliver reduced total cost of ownership within the spend profile.

 

Main Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Providing specialist advice, guidance and service on leading practice procurement to all departments;
  • Develop a strong understanding of the complexities of managing the procurement function for a business that offers a variety of different services;
  • Develop and deliver a Procurement Strategy across the business to deliver the target benefits and financial savings;
  • Engage support and agreement for the strategy from key stakeholders so that implementation and compliance are optimal and promote the effective management of suppliers that sustain value throughout the life of the contract;
  • Establish new processes and systems for effective procurement across the business;

 

What sort of person are we after?

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior procurement or purchasing management level role within the Resources and/or Oil and Gas industries.
  • Team management skills
  • Remote Project experience
  • Advanced knowledge of NetSuite procure to pay
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Customer focused
  • People management and influencing skills
  • Commercial aptitude
  • Strong communication/negation skills
  • Highly analytical
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental management.

Desirable:

  • Degree (Business) in Procurement or Supply Chain
  • CIPSA member or a similarly recognised organisation
