Payroll Officer - Local Government!

Jump into a dynamic payroll team to cover an extended period of leave - this role will take you through the Christmas/NY period!

Run the pays on a fortnightly basis, alongside 2 other team members, for a diverse workforce.

Handle HR administration, work across LSL requirements, oversee superannuation compliance.

Description

Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will:

  • Process pays fortnightly for both salaried and wages staff in a team of 3
  • Maintain employee records and ensure each is accurately set up in the system
  • Complete payroll reconciliations and accruals
  • Calculate and check leave provisions
  • Process any special payments, backpays, allowances, or higher duties
  • Enter timesheets and ensure necessary approvals obtained
  • Consistently refer to and interpret employment contracts, legislation, awards and other agreements, and council policy to complete your role
  • Process superannuation and complete other tax and compliance duties
  • Complete LSL applications and reconciliations
  • Provide reports as requested

Profile

To be considered for and successful in this role you will:

  • Arrive with demonstrated success in a senior payroll position, drawn from large organisations with diversity to their workforce, pay-cycles and payrolls
  • Be in a position to start work week beginning 28th October (ideally)
  • Have experience navigating and processing in sophisticated payroll systems and HRIS
  • Consider yourself a down to earth personality, a diligent worker, and efficient to accurate payroll processing
