Company description:

As one of Australia's leading grain exporters, GrainCorp owns Eastern Australia's largest integrated grain storage and transport network. Our diversified operations span four continents and the global food supply chain. Our traceable supply of quality grain and value-added food processing capabilities mean GrainCorp's products and expertise are sought by leading food manufacturers in over 30 countries.

Job description:

Be a part of our worldwide team.

In 2016, GrainCorp celebrated 100 years of growth. Today, we are proud to be Australia’s largest agribusiness with diversified operations that span four continents and the global food supply chain.  Our people can be proud that, as a leading international agri-business, we provide an increasingly important service across the food and beverage supply chain.

GrainCorp Grains connects more than 10,000 grain growers with local and international customers via Australia’s largest silo network, with a storage capacity of over 20 million tonnes, seven bulk port elevators and two specialty port terminals. Innovation, integration and partnership are the foundations on which we are growing into our second century with customers at the heart of all that we do.

About the role

As the Site Manager for Murtoa you will be required to supervise a team of Grain Handlers to ensure that the site runs smoothly and efficiently. You will assist the Area Manager in planning, resourcing receivables and out-loading of grain during both normal and peak season periods. Maintaining an awareness of local priorities and issues is essential in order to help build and develop relationships with growers and customer.

Safety is a core value at GrainCorp and this person will follow and will help to ensure others follow all OHS systems and procedures

About your experience

Ideally, you will have operational experience in a supervisory role. Whilst this role is very hands-on, we require someone who is keen to progress within the company. You will be able to;

  • Build strong relationships within the community and be aware of competitor activity.
  • A sound understanding of OHS requirements and basic computer skills in Microsoft Office are also required.
  • We are willing to provide training if you are keen, eager and can pick things up quickly. It will enable you to learn the day-to-day operations of running a site which is important to progress within our business. If you have initiative, a great attitude and are a fast learner, this could be the role for you!
  • We are committed to developing our people in a versatile workplace where they can reach their full potential. This makes it possible for them to not only thrive, but to excel in an industry where change brings opportunity.
  • In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, preferred candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and criminal history check. A current, valid driver’s licence is also required.
Next steps

At GrainCorp, we value and respect the different perspectives and experiences our people bring to work each day. We aim to increase the diversity of our workforce – leading to a range of different thinking, perspectives and ideas that create the innovation we need to drive better business results. We aim to have a work environment where everyone feels included and everyone can realise their full potential.
