Communications Specialist - NSW State Government


  • $500-$600 per day + Super, depending on experience | 40hours per week
  • NSW State Government | Eveleigh location
  • ASAP start | 9month temporary assignment, strong potential to extend
  
Our large NSW State Government client serves the community by leading the provision of world-class education and training, connecting all stages from early childhood education and care through to tertiary courses and qualifications. They are currently seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to join their team in Eveleigh. This is an estimated 9-month temporary assignment, with a strong potential to extend. 
  
Working within an innovative technology focused team, you will be dedicated to assisting teachers explore the benefits of technology in the classroom.



Your duties will include, however, will not be limited to the following:
  • Develop and implement innovative communication collateral
  • Drive and manage communications content across a wide range of platforms and channels including social media, EDM’s, websites, intranet and other digital content
  • Create and deliver high quality messages to raise awareness and understanding of the initiatives
  • Maintain social media presence, setting growth targets
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Monitor and interpret analytics recommending adjustments
  • Conduct thorough market research formulating recommendations
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and growth including SEO for the new Departmental website
  • Develop and manage promotional plans for events utilising relevant channels
  • Attending events across NSW as required
  
To be successful in the role, you will have the following:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications or within a relevant field
  • Demonstrated Internal Communications experience
  • Public Sector experience desirable
  • Impeccable communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency skills with MS Office suite
  • Superior organisational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel to throughout Sydney Metropolitan and regional NSW
  • Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
