Retail Storeperson - Camperdown

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Retail Storeperson with a high level of enthusiasm to join our team.  You will be responsible for ensuring that all deliveries and stock is put away, picking and packing customer orders and general storeroom duties as well as keeping the shelves stocked in the retail store and helping customers as necessary.   

You will be responsible for various activities including:

Key tasks:

  • Loading and unloading stock
  • Stock management - Unpacking stock from deliveries, movement of stock from pallets to trolleys to the retail store shelves (frequent heavy lifting up to 25kgs is a requirement), bar coding, correct placement in store, pricing
  • Receiving and dispatching goods to customers
  • Picking orders, packaging orders, arranging pick-ups and deliveries etc.
  • General storeroom duties
  • Approaching customers and offering assistance and specialist product advice
  • Sales and customer service
  • Cash handling, end of shift till reconciliation, petty cash, banking
  • Cleaning shelves, merchandising and product layouts
  • Personal security and of security of Company assets and cash
  • Assisting with the stock take process
  • Ensuring Company policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar wholesale retail environment assisting customers and maintaining stock requirements
  • Physically able to undertake the role and demonstrate safe manual handling skills
  • Team Player and a 'Can do' attitude
  • Able to receive work flexibly, take directions, feedback and learn quickly
  • Confident in asking questions to improve processes
  • Reliable - punctual and dependable
  • Self-motivated and have a strong work ethic
  • Ability to undertake duties without close supervision
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Customer Service orientated
  • Pride in showroom display and layout
  • Problem solving skills and initiative

Desirable requirements:

  • Previous experience in the hospitality or catering industry
  • Experience using Pronto POS software
  • Retail / Customer Service Training
