Assistant Accountant

An exciting opportunity has become available in our growing Melbourne office for someone with solid accounting knowledge and previous experience in accounts payable/receivable administration. We are looking for a positive, task-oriented individual who has exceptional problem solving skills, shows initiative, and has a strong customer service focus.

Working as part of a close-knit team your responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of monthly management reports, processing general ledger entries, processing supplier invoices, management of accounts payable/receivable, and working closely with our Business Integrated Services team. While the role involves a core element of transactional processing and management, there will be plenty of opportunity for the right candidate to expand into other areas and get involved with project and reporting work alongside the company accountants.

About you:

Ideally you will have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant, or Accounting technician role and be able to demonstrate:

  • Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting packages
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to enter data quickly and manage significant transaction volumes
  • Strong process focus & problem solving ability
  • Reconciliation & review skills
  • Great communicator, smart, and approachable.
  • Formal qualifications in accounting or finance will be an advantage (e.g. Accounting Technician).
