Quality Assurance Analyst

About the Role 

Reporting to the Program Technical Manager, the role works across the business and IT teams to ensure the quality and timeliness of software delivery. The role is responsible for supporting the Business QA process and testing against agreed success criteria, using both manual and automated testing processes.  

The right person for the role will be a subject matter expert for various features and/or modules across the organization’s software portfolio. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Accurately plan and estimate various QA phases in either development projects or other test engagements; 

  • Accurately design test documentation on software applications based on business requirements and technical specifications;  

  • Provide status on upcoming releases, architect QA processes and provide solutions to execution issues; 

  • Take the lead on building and executing automated testing scripts in support of the test plans where applicable and record and document results of testing process; 

  • Through defect management, effectively identify software failures so that defects may be discovered, corrected and documented.

Candidate Requirements  

Essential 

  • Degree, graduate degree or proven significant experience in the discipline of Computing Science; 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a software quality control or software development field  

  • Competent in software development or software testing theory, knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques; 

  • Experience with change management, release packaging and deployment concepts; 

  • Proficient in understanding written requirements, including use cases, supplementary specifications and requirements traceability; 

  • Experience with issue/defect tracking and change management tools; 

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize workload and deliverables within schedule constraints to deliver results; 

  • SQL (other languages a bonus); 

  • Experience with all Microsoft Office tools; 

  • Be a team player who has a passion for continuous improvement; 

Desirable 

  • Credit risk domain knowledge
