Front Office Assistant Manager

Located in the $600m Southpoint precinct, Emporium Hotel South Bank features 143 luxuriously appointed suites with all the comforts you could ask for, while an abundance of premium food and beverage options leave guests spoilt for choice. On level 21 you will find a spectacular 23m infinity edge pool and bar with magnificent views over South Bank Parklands, the Brisbane River, city and beyond. The coveted north easterly aspect will allow comfort and enjoyment morning to night, all year round.

We are looking for a career focused and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Front Office Department.

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, this is a full-time role which will see the successful candidate play a key role in the setup of operational workflows and service standards for the Front Office Team. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the daily management of Front Office Operation in our Five Star Luxury Boutique hotel;
  • Oversee the daily operation of other hotel departments and assume responsibility for the Hotel in absence of Department Heads and Senior Management;
  • Responsible for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring the delivery of 5-star guest experiences;
  • Optimise hotel occupancy, revenue and room rates; 
  • Ensure effective communication between reception, reservations, concierge and night management;
  • Foster effective working relationships with all hotel departments.
  • Liaise with Guest Relations to ensure efficient delivery of services to Emporium Residence Occupants.


The successful applicant will be:

  • Passionate about service with an understanding of how to meet guest expectations within a five-star hotel environment;
  • A Front Office Professional with working knowledge of reception, reservations and concierge;
  • Previous managerial or supervisor experience in the Front Office of a 4-5-star hotel with the desire to develop and grow professionally;
  • Outstanding personal presentation and attention to detail;
  • The ability to work a 7-day roster, including nights and weekends;
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills;
  • Confidence in using hotel-based computer systems, with Opera experience highly regarded;
  • Current RMLV, RSA and First Aid certificates and Liquor Approved Manager Licence highly regarded;
  • Eligible to work in Australia.
